HYPE Highlight on Dressing for Success 8.29.18

HYPE Highlight is focused on the fashion industry in August. We'll kick off by hearing from the men of Alton Lane about the psychology of dress and the societal perceptions of how you dress before turning the stage over to our featured entrepreneur and powerful HYPE Woman, Sydney Lester.

Sydney is a personal wardrobe stylist with over eight years of experience in the fashion industry. In 2009 Sydney launched Chic Stripes, her personal style blog that focused on creating individualized style by shopping second hand first. She parlayed her blog into a successful personal styling business where she works with women and men to create sustainable and timeless wardrobes that work for them.

** During this event, HYPE will be hosting a donation drive to benefit Dress for Success Central Virginia, an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Dress for Success has been providing clothing, confidence and career boosts to more than 925,000 since 1997. All donations are tax-deductible. Suits can be dropped off at the HYPE event. We will be collecting nearly new women's professional clothing and accessories such as suits, blouses, closed-toe shoes, bags and jewelry. If your donations are appropriate to wear to work and if you would be comfortable wearing your donated item to an interview, we'll take it! For our male participants...ask your girlfriends, roommates, sisters or mothers for donations to participate.
