Event Description:

Business success ? and our region?s future ? is dependent on our ability to grow equitably and inclusively. The final session of the Shared Values Conversation series highlights how business-led civic organizations can adopt their own changes toward equity and inclusive economic growth, the third pillar of the Brookings? action framework.

This session will feature JB Holston, CEO of the Greater Washington Partnership. The Partnership recently recognized inclusive growth as the preeminent moral and economic imperative for the Capital Region and announced its commitment to fostering cross-sector collaboration to make sustainable progress. The conversation will focus on their three major initiatives, and how the Richmond region connects to them:

1. Creating an actionable set of regional solutions and actions through a blueprint for inclusive growth to make the region the most inclusive economy in the nation within ten years;

2. Defining critical issues and identifying communities that lack access to opportunity through the creation of a new regional economic indicators dashboard; and

3. Driving collaboration among regional organizations to align initiatives and deploy resources at scale toward critical inclusive growth challenges.

Over the next year, the Partnership will convene a broad coalition of experts, advocates and community organizations from Baltimore to Richmond to catalyze solutions to close the wealth gap.

Join the conversation to hear how there?s greater ?return on investment? when individual actions are matched by others, with each entity doing its part to expand equity and opportunity at scale across a community.
